Partnership with PIARC
The idea behind Nordic co-operation within the road sector emanated from the international road congresses that had been organized by the PIARC, (Permanent International Association of Road Congresses), now renamed World Road Association since 1908.
Today, the Nordic Road Association works in co-operation with both PIARC as well as with many other international organizations in the field. The Baltic Road Association is one such example.
NRA Representative in PIARC's Central Office
According to the agreement between PIARC and NRA; Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden seconds a senior staff member to the Secretariat General for one year at a time.
Currently representing NRA, Carolina Theolin Palmell, from Sweden, works at the Central Office of PIARC in Paris.
